A woman was caught with cash in her hand that she allegedly stole from a business when RCMP arrived to arrest her.
Shortly after midnight on Friday, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a liquor store robbery in the 2400 block of Saskatchewan Avenue.
A witness said the suspect walked into the store with a scarf over her face and brandished a knife upon walking up to the counter. A quantity of alcohol was stolen and the suspect took off in a grey four-door vehicle.
Minutes later, RCMP responded to a second robbery at a nearby coffee shop. The suspect description matched the first robbery and officers spotted the woman outside. She was holding money in her hands at the time and was immediately arrested. No one was injured in either of the robberies.
The 36-year-old from Long Plain First Nation remains in custody and is facing robbery charges.
