Don Amero
A popular mentor program for aboriginal musicians is returning this year.
Manitoba Music is administering the program the Aboriginal Music Program (AMP), “AMP Mentors,” which engages new and emerging First Nation, Métis, and Inuit youth along with elementary school classrooms interested in learning more about the Aboriginal music community in Manitoba.
Mentor sessions will include career advice, instrument lessons, and songwriting feedback.
The program will run March through May and include artists such as Don Amero, Chuck Copenace, Luc and Aidan Wrigley, Orvis Thomas, Ali Fontaine, Patti Lamoureux and others.
One-hour mentor consultations and presentations will be free of charge and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers and youth program coordinators can visit AboriginalMusic.ca for further information and to register.
