Winnipeg police have laid charges against two men after traffic stops on Tuesday.
Working as part of an ongoing investigation, the street crime unit pulled over a vehicle on Nairn Avenue at around 9:23 p.m. Officers found a firearm, ammunition, a hatchet, and a collapsible baton.
Eric Schinkel, 28, of Steinbach, was arrested and charged with several firearm-related offences.
A second traffic stop at around 10:44 p.m. was conducted at the intersection of Langevin Street and Provencher Boulevard.
Jeffrey Gibson, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Both men remain in custody.
