Ryan Adams, Sam Roberts Band Tapped for Winnipeg Folk Festival

Winnipeg Folk Festival 2016The Winnipeg Folk Festival will be home to musical artists Ryan Adams, Lord Huron, Milky Chance and Sam Roberts Band this year.

Those are just a handful of the many bands and musicians to highlight the 43rd annual festival at Birds Hill Park.

On Friday, July 8, the Los Angeles-based Bluegrass Situation will play Big Blue @ Night, where audiences will be treated to four indelible roots acts: The Foggy Hogtown Boys, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Wild Reeds and three-time Grammy award nominee and founding member of the Punch Brothers, Noam Pikelny.

On the last night of the festival, Loudon Wainwright III will receive the artistic achievement award on the main stage. Martha and Lucy Wainwright will share in the special experience with their father.

This year’s Folk Festival runs July 7-10. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
