WINNIPEG — A clinic specializing in the health and well-being of the gay and bisexual community will open its new Exchange District location today.
Our Own Health Centre will open the doors at 286 McDermot Avenue with an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
“The mission of OOHC is to improve the health and well-being of gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men”, said Dr. Dick Smith, medical director of the clinic.
“They have unique health care needs and we believe that they deserve optimal health care that takes their specific health and wellness needs into account.”
Smith says the clinic will be open to all Manitobans in an effort to provide optimal health care to all individuals, regardless of lifestyle.
“There is no other medical clinic in the Exchange District and we want to make our clinic accessible to anyone living, working, or visiting this dynamic part of Winnipeg.”
