Hundreds woke up bright and early on Sunday to help raise awareness and support for Tourette syndrome.
The Winnipeg chapter of Tourette Canada held the 8th annual Trek for Tourette run and walk at Assiniboine Park.
Pledges raised will go to support those living with Tourette syndrome, which is a neurological disorder affecting one in 100 Canadians.
The event is held annually in a variety of Canadian communities on the last Sunday of March.
Nationwide fundraising efforts will continue until the end of April. Organizers estimated as of Sunday — between online and manual pledges in Winnipeg — about $8,700 had been raised.
