Chase Martens (RCMP HANDOUT)

Manitoba RCMP are looking for missing two-year-old Chase Martens after he was last seen playing outside near his home in Austin on Tuesday evening.

Martens is described as 2.5 feet tall, 30 lbs, with blue eyes, and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, black splash pants, a red hat and boots that light up as he walks.

More than 200 searchers were involved overnight to locate the boy, including police dogs, volunteers from the Austin Fire Department and the Winnipeg police Air 1 helicopter.

“We’re talking … of a little two-year-old boy who’s out playing and all of a sudden is just not there anymore. (We’re) asking for any information from the public at this point,” Sgt. Bert Paquet said Wednesday.

“We’ve often solved cases similar to this with very minute pieces of information.”

Anyone travelling in the area of Highway 34 and Austin is asked to be on the lookout for the boy.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact their local detachment.
