Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a crash involving two off-duty Winnipeg police officers.
Manitoba Justice was alerted of the crash, which occurred at around 3:20 a.m. on March 12 when an officer’s vehicle struck a parked car in a residential neighbourhood. The vehicle also hit a fire hydrant and caused significant damage. One of the officers was treated for injuries at the scene, while the passenger was taken to hospital.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) was notified on March 17 and identified a conflict of interest in the case.
Manitoba Justice turned the investigation over to the RCMP “F” Division in Saskatchewan on Tuesday.
