A made-in-Winnipeg smartphone app has won accolades for its ability to alert consumers of the best price available on items they purchase at retail locations.
Pricerazzi, known as the app that “Keeps Track for Money Back,” won the best presenting company award at the Canadian Financing Forum.
“The judges really liked the app because they could see themselves using it and because it appeals to almost everyone in North America,” said founder and CEO Declan McDonald.
“So many people have the opportunity to get money back, but no one has the time to do so.”
The app works when consumers take a photo of their receipt from a purchase by pairing it with retailers’ price match program. If products purchased are available elsewhere at a lower price, the user is notified via an alert.
The Forum features Canada’s most promising technology companies and gives them the opportunity to compete for attention from top tier investors in North America.
