Manitoba’s NDP would reducing hospital parking rates and cut ambulance fees in half if re-elected.
Leader Greg Selinger said his government would spend $20 million on the initiatives, while also removing the per kilometres ambulance fees in rural and northern areas.
“Nothing is more important than your family’s health and the NDP will invest to make health care more accessible for working and middle-class families,” Selinger said.
Selinger said his government would work with hospital foundations to make parking at hospitals in Winnipeg more affordable, including expanding subsidized parking and supporting transportation programs in partnership with organizations.
