PC Leader Brian Pallister (HANDOUT)
Manitoba’s Progressive Conservatives would add 1,200 personal care home beds if elected on April 19.
The beds would come at a cost of $160 million and be implemented during leader Brian Pallister’s first two terms.
“Over 1,200 seniors need a personal care home bed and wait times are growing to as much as six months,” Pallister said.
The Tories say they would develop a funding model to fast-track construction of the beds with non-profit organizations, faith-based groups and community leaders similar to the successful Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville.
