Four Commit to Bison Men’s Volleyball for 2016-17

University of Manitoba BisonsFour volleyball players have committed to the Manitoba Bisons’ mens squad for the 2016-17 season.

Winnipeggers Brendan Cairns and David Penner will suit up for the Brown and Gold, while Bradon Jones and Caleb Konrad hail from B.C.

“Brendan brings us some depth at the left side and passing positions,” said head coach Garth Pischke. “We expect Brendan to challenge for a starting spot at the P2 position.”

Cairns, 19, is an outside hitter and finished his high school career at Miles Macdonell Collegiate in 2013-14 and played last two seasons with Capilano University men’s volleyball team.

Penner, 17, is a middle blocker/hitter and finished his high school career at Westgate Mennonite Collegiate in 2015-16.

Jones, 18, is a middle blocker/hitter and finished his high school career at Surrey Christian School in 2015-16 in Surrey, B.C.

Konrad, 20, is a setter and finished his high school career at Mennonite Educational Institute in 2011-12 and played last three seasons with Douglas College men’s volleyball team.
