When it comes to giving used items a second life, Winnipeggers know about that all too well.
A recently released survey by Kijiji Canada reveals Winnipeg ranks number three with the most video games consoles listed compared to Canada’s major cities, with over 6,000 ads.
The findings are part of the second annual Second-Hand Economy Index to coincide with April being Earth Month.
Last year, 85% of Canadians participated in the second-hand economy, with Winnipeggers giving a second life to an average of 71.8 items (compared to a national average of 77).
The average amount of cash going back into the pockets of Winnipeg sellers was $883.
The ad with the most replies? A bitter Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan offering $5 to anyone willing to take his free tickets.
The most common ads in Winnipeg are listed under the arts and collectibles category, with the most searched ads being speaker-related in the electronics category.
