WINNIPEG – A woman is accused of causing a five-car pileup in Winnipeg and spitting on a police officer who was called to the scene.
Police say 14 people were injured when a vehicle went over the median Monday evening on Portage Avenue in the city’s west end and into oncoming traffic.
They allege the 36-year-old woman was at the wheel when the crash happened.
They also say she spit on an officer who was investigating the accident.
Most of the injuries were minor.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor.
