The Winnipeg Goldeyes have signed a pair of righties for the upcoming 2016 season.
Pitchers Duke von Schamann and Dylan Rheault will suit up for the Fish when spring training begins on May 7.
von Schamann made five starts at the Double-A level for the Eastern League’s Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians). The Tulsa, Oklahoma native struck out 19 and walked nine over 25.0 innings pitched.
“Duke is a polished starting pitcher that has a few years of Double-A experience that will really help solidify our staff,” said Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney.
Rheault pitched for the High-A Carolina League’s Frederick Keys (Baltimore Orioles) in 2015, making 37 relief appearances and one start.
The Goldeyes now have 24 players under contract for the 2016 season.
