Manitoba’s Liberals would lower property taxes for condominium owners if elected April 19.

“As a society we need to start building up instead of out and that means higher density residences should be rewarded,” leader Rana Bokhari said.

“By creating a smaller footprint condo owners save municipalities money for things like road repair, snow clearing, garbage pickup and so much more. We will allow local governments the ability to amend the formula to reward this.”

Bokhari says condo owners pay property taxes up to 84% higher per person than owners of detached homes.
