Aboriginal Artwork

Aboriginal artists are being sought to submit their work to be displayed in storefronts of downtown Winnipeg using the theme ‘Welcome.’ (VISION QUEST CONFERENCES INC.)

A new art installation this summer will include the work of 10 aboriginal artists in a display in downtown Winnipeg storefronts.

The Aboriginal Artwalk is looking for artists of any age and experience to create in any medium. The pieces should somehow reflect the theme of ‘Welcome.’

Those interested in having their art as part of the walk are asked to submit a brief bio and a headshot, a short proposal describing their project and how it reflects the theme and any relevant photos.

Submissions should be emailed to rascreative@yahoo.ca by Friday, April 15 at 5 p.m. CT. Artists will be selected/notified on April 18, and will have until May 8 to create the artwork.

Artists chosen will have the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ promote their work for a three-month period and will receive a small honourarium for participating. Artwork will be returned following the exhibit.

The Artwalk will officially launch on May 17.
