Winnipeg police responded to a commercial break and enter in the first 100 block of Sinawik Bay at around 5 p.m.
The canine unit tracked the suspect down a short distance away.
The Winnipeg teen faces charges of break and enter, arson, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and possessing incendiary material.
He was released on a promise to appear.
