A 52-year-old woman is recovering after an assault near Pine Creek, Manitoba on Monday.
Motorists found the victim on PTH 373 sitting on the side of the road at around 2 p.m. She suffered upper body injuries when she was flagged down by a female with a young child. She got out of her vehicle to help when a man attacked her from behind.
The woman was able to free herself, but the attacker and woman and child made off in a mid-size red or burgundy vehicle.
Police believe the victim was targeted and the attack wasn’t random.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
