Arrest Made in Fatal Cyclist Crash on Nairn Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestA 24-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged following a fatal crash involving a cyclist.

Two men were riding eastbound in the curb lane in the 900 block of Nairn Avenue Tuesday morning when one was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The 38-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Later in the morning, police arrested Kyle Nicholas Genereux. He has been charged with driving while impaired, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident involving death.

He remains in custody.
