The executive director of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet stepped down from his role on Friday.
Jeff Herd abruptly left the organization after informing the board of directors that he would not be renewing his contract.
Herd had been executive director of the RWB since 2008 and no reason for his departure was provided.
“I have enjoyed my time here at the RWB. It is an amazing organization. I thank the staff and dancers for their wonderful work. I am proud of what we have accomplished and wish the organization all the best,” Herd said in an statement.
Artistic director André Lewis will assume Herd’s responsibilities in the interim while a search for a replacement is underway.
