Birch - Dog

Funds are desperately being collected to save a five-month-old Shepard mix found in a ditch in a remote Manitoba community.

Birch was discovered battling parvovirus and wouldn’t have made it if Manitoba Underdogs Rescue didn’t intervene.

“There is no way we could have left her,” said Jessica Hansen, executive director of Manitoba Underdogs Rescue. “Left untreated, parvovirus is always deadly. Birch deserved a chance and that’s what we’re working to give her.”

Birch is currently receiving around the clock monitoring and treatment with a medical bill expected to reach $2,000. Due to the mounting costs, MUR has closed their intake as their financial resources have become stretched.

“Our amazing donors are always there to help us when we need it and we hope that this will be no different. Birch needs their help to survive.”

Donations can be made by going to the Manitoba Underdogs Rescue website.
