Man Beaten Inside Winnipeg Bus Shelter

Winnipeg police are looking for a man after he allegedly beat another man who told him to stop smoking inside a bus shelter.

The assault happened Wednesday at around 7:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Portage Avenue.

Police say the victim told the man to stop smoking or exit the bus shelter. The suspect responded by knocking the victim down to the ground and assaulted him in the upper body, police said. He then grabbed a skateboard and hit the victim several more times.

Police are looking for a man described as aboriginal in appearance, 5’7″ tall, short hair, medium build, wearing a grey/navy hoodie, Toronto Maple Leafs baseball cap and in possession of a skateboard.

The victim sustained multiple injuries in the assault.
