Winnipeg Police Arrest Man After Senior Beaten in Bus Shelter

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police say they have arrested a suspect after a man was beaten inside a bus shelter last week.

Police said the victim, a 63-year-old man, to stop smoking inside a bus shelter he was waiting at on May 4 on Portage Avenue.

The young man knocked the senior to the ground and beat him several times with his skateboard. The senior had to be taken to hospital for injuries.

Police caught up with the suspect on May 10 and arrested him at a home in Westdale.

Justin James Crowe, 24, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and three counts of violating his probation.
