A man was shot and killed early Thursday evening in the West End, police say.
Officers responded to the 600 block of Wellington Avenue after receiving reports a man was shot in his home.
George Prieston, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition where he later died.
Prieston’s dog was also shot and later had to be put down due to its injuries, police say.
Witnesses told police a military-style assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine was used in the shooting.
Two adult men have been arrested and face charges of first degree murder, cruelty to animals, and fail to comply with recognizance.
