Brandon Police Service CrestBrandon police have charged a 32-year-old man with two counts of uttering threats after he told his wife and son he would shoot them if he had to attend marriage counselling.

Police say the argument happened on May 19 when the man allegedly made the threats due to having to attend and fix a strife in their relationship.

The victim contacted police on May 24, but was initially reluctant to press charges. The Crown Attorney directed police to pursue the charges.

The man was arrested in Wawanesa by RCMP and was to appear in court on Thursday.
