Brandon Police Service CrestIf you’re going to dine and dash, maybe don’t leave your kid behind at the restaurant.

A couple from Sioux Valley First Nation found out the hard way when Brandon police say they fled a restaurant on Tuesday evening and forgot their 10-year-old daughter.

The incident happened in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue at around 8:50 p.m. after the couple ate a meal and ordered drinks totalling $135.

Police say the pair bolted from the restaurant without their daughter, but were located intoxicated a short distance away.

The child was turned over to Child and Family Services.

A 29-year-old man and his 33-year-old wife face charges of food by fraud and will appear in Brandon court in July.
