Winnipeg will be catching up with our neighbours in Westman in a new challenge benefiting the Manitoba Lung Association.
The Awesome Race for Breath is a fundraising event for the organization and will be held in the city for the first time on Saturday, October 15.
The challenge, inspired by TV’s “The Amazing Race,” challenges teams of two people to follow clues to pit stops sponsored by local businesses. Racers are tasked with completing fun mental, physical or creative challenges at each pit stop before finishing the race.
Brandon has hosted the challenge for the past two years.
“We designed the Awesome Race for Breath so people can have fun while supporting the one in five Manitobans living with lung disease,” said Neil Johnston, interim president and CEO, Manitoba Lung Association.
“People love the Awesome Race because it offers something for everyone — not just the Amazing Race fans and the hardcore competitors.”
Funds raised will support programs, services and research that help Manitobans with lung disease breathe easier. To register, visit mb.lung.ca.
