An 82-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening in Swan River.
Manitoba RCMP say it happened at around 5 p.m. at the corner of 9th Ave North and 1st Street North. The woman was crossing the street when a vehicle, driven by a 17-year-old girl, stopped at a stop sign and then turned the corner.
The woman was hit and taken to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver, also from Swan River, wasn’t injured.
Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor and police continue to investigate.
