A pickup truck crashed into a Winnipeg 7-Eleven store Saturday evening after the driver experienced a medical issue.

Police say it happened in the 600 block of St. Anne’s Road at around 8:45 p.m.

The 23-year-old man driving the truck was travelling northbound at the time approaching Woodydell Avenue. Police say the truck accelerated and veered off the road, crashing into the front wall of the 7-Eleven.

The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition. One customer suffered minor injuries, but was treated and released.

Damage is estimated to be approximately $100,000.
