Indigenous artists and performers will be front and centre during the new Indigenous Concert Series on Friday.
Portage Place Shopping Centre is hosting the performances in Edmonton Court throughout the summer months. Kicking things off on June 24 will be Ila Barker. Don Amero will appear on July 29 and Renée Lamoureux on August 26.
Concerts will run from noon to 12:45 p.m.
“We are committed to providing a welcoming environment at Portage Place for all nationalities—including our Indigenous community,” said David Stone general manager of Portage Place Shopping Centre.
“Portage Place is a truly multi-cultural centre and our goal is to ensure people of all nationalities feel welcome.”
The mall says the concert series is part of a continued commitment by Portage Place to foster a welcoming and culturally inclusive environment for all patrons that visit the downtown shopping centre.
