A 22-year-old Florida woman is in RCMP custody after allegedly trying to abduct an eight-year-old girl in Stonewall.
RCMP say the attempted abduction happened last Friday outside a mall in the area. The girl was on her own inside a vehicle when the woman approached and tried to persuade her to get into another vehicle.
Police were called with the suspect’s description and immediately attended.
Loryn Sauerwein was arrested and charged with abduction of a person under 14. She remains in custody and was to appear in court on Monday.
