Downtown Winnipeg BIZA new initiative to shape the next three years of Winnipeg’s downtown will spark ideas from business leaders and the community.

The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ unveiled their new engagement strategy Monday at the Urban Lab.

“With so many positive developments and initiatives taking place, we want to provide people with an opportunity to express their ideas, suggestions, and vision for their downtown to move us to the next level,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.

“Change happens when people participate and take action. We’re looking forward to hearing from the downtown community and the general public—our creativity and determination comes from your vision for our downtown!”

Feedback generated will inform the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s 2017-2019 strategic plan.

Strategic planning process

  • Phase 1 – Collection and Engagement – April through September
  • Phase 2 – Assessment and Vision – September
  • Phase 3 – Strategy and Writing – October through November

The strategic plan process will end with a launch party at the end of November, in the Urban Lab, where the BIZ will invite all those who provided their feedback with a fun night to celebrate and to review the 2017-2019 plan.
