What’s Open and Closed on Canada Day in Winnipeg

Here’s what open, closed or operating on a reduced schedule in Winnipeg for Canada Day, Friday, July 1.

Shopping Centres
Kildonan Place — Closed
St. Vital Centre — Closed
Polo Park — Closed
Grant Park — Closed

Liquor Marts
All Liquor Marts in Winnipeg will open at 10 a.m. on July 1 and close at 6 p.m. with the exception of cityplace, which will be closed. Liquor Mart Express stores will be closed with the exception of the Airport and Park West Express locations, which will open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m.

City of Winnipeg Civic Offices
Closed on Friday, July 1.

Recycling/Garbage Collection
Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on the Canada Day holiday for those with Friday as their collection day.

Brady Road Landfill (commercial customers only):
Friday, July 1 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 2 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, July 3 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Leisure Centres
All Leisure Centres will be closed on Friday, July 1. Regular hours of operation resume on Saturday, July 2.

Swimming Pools
All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Friday, July 1.

Outdoor Pools
Weather permitting, all City of Winnipeg outdoor pools will be open Friday, July 1. Operating hours vary by pool.

Spray Pads
Spray pads will be open on Friday July 1. Operating hours for spray pads are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Libraries
All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Friday, July 1.

Animal Services Agency
The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Friday, July 1.
Regular hours of operation are in effect on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3.

Cemeteries
Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn until 9 p.m. on Canada Day, Friday, July 1.

Cemetery offices will be closed on Friday, July 1.

Winnipeg Parking Authority
Hours of operation for the Winnipeg Parking Authority during Canada Day are as follows:
Friday, July 1 — Closed
Saturday, July 2 — Closed (as per regular operating hours)
Sunday, July 3 — Closed (as per regular operating hours)
Monday, July 4 — Regular hours – 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Golf Courses
Crescent Drive, Harbour View, John Blumberg, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park Golf Courses will be open every day on the Canada Day long weekend from dawn until dusk, approximately 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
