Winnipeg police have laid charges after several robberies in the city over the past week.
Police say three robberies occurred on June 25, 26 and on July 1 at a clothing store in the 1300 block of McPhillips Street, a convenience store in the 100 block of Salter Street, and a drug store in 700 block of St. Anne’s Road.
In all three incidents, a man is accused of stealing merchandise and also igniting a canister of hairspray with a lighter in the direction of staff.
In the St. Anne’s Road incident, police say the man kicked a small dog that was outside of the store as he fled.
Police located the suspect a short time later and made an arrest.
Ivan James Roulette, 23, has been charged with three counts of robbery, possession of a weapon, six counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition, and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
He remains in custody.
