Winnipeg police have confirmed the body found inside a submerged vehicle is that of Hirenkumar (Herry) Patel.
The 31-year-old was last seen June 26 in the East Kildonan area and reported missing.
Patel’s red Hyundai Elantra was pulled from the Red River near the Fort Garry Bridge on July 1. Police weren’t able to confirm the identity of the body until an autopsy was performed.
Foul play is not suspected in the man’s death.
Police are requesting that Patel’s family have privacy.
