Sawed-Off Shotgun, Cocaine Recovered from Winnipeg Taxicab

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police pulled over a taxicab Friday night and came across quite the haul as part of a routine traffic stop.

Police pulled the cab over at around 10:30 p.m. in the area of McGregor Street and Pritchard Avenue for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

As soon as the cab stopped, the front passenger fled the vehicle.

Police located six rocks of crack cocaine valued at $120, $1,290 in cash, a sawed-off shotgun, and shotgun ammunition.

Police caught up with the passenger who fled, and also arrested the passenger in the backseat.

Jason Scott Woodhouse, 22, and Mark Alexander Young, 21, both of Winnipeg face several firearms and weapons-related charges, as well as failing to comply with their probation.

Both men remain in custody.
