Winnipeg is already known as the Slurpee Capital of the World, so 7-Eleven Day (July 11) should really be considered a provincial holiday.
The convenience store is celebrating the day with free 12oz Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The chain is also toasting Manitobans with the world’s largest Slurpee at 711 litres.
7-Eleven will present the city of Winnipeg with the Slurpee Cup at its birthday party at 1184 Portage Avenue.
Live music by local band Purple City Event Band, face painting, balloon artists and free food samples will also add to the fun starting at 11 a.m.
New summer Slurpee flavours this year include Mountain Dew Kickstart Black Cherry, Dole Strawberry-Banana-Kiwi, and Dole Watermelon.
