Two Manitoba RCMP officers are being credited with helping to free a skunk from a Tim Hortons cup stuck on its head. The incident happened June 22 at around 2:15 a.m. when Cst. Kyle Van De Sype was returning home from a day of duty in Winnipegosis.

Van De Sype spotted the starving skunk and called for back-up. Cst. Catlin Lang soon arrived and the two hatched the high-risk “tarp and trap” maneuver.

After about a minute — and one failed attempt — the cup was quickly removed and the critter was on its way.

“No officers were sprayed during this incident,” police said in a YouTube video description of the incident.
