Hiring a contractor can be a headache, but a Winnipeg-based company hopes a new online tool will alleviate some of the stress associated with home renovation projects.
GetAPro.ca allows users to obtain three separate estimates from professional and independent contractors in a timely fashion.
A user submits their project details, including their desired deadline, and waits to receive a trio of estimates from a network of professional contractors for review.
“The benefits to a user are clear, however, feedback from contractors has has been positively overwhelming,” said Chris Janik, president and owner of GetAPro.ca.
“It’s a different way for contractors to do business and they like it. It gives them flexibility to better manage their workflow, allows them to meet new clients outside their referral network and the potential to grow their business is there.”
The website is currently in the process of adding contractors to its network, including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, landscapers, kitchen/bath contractors, those specializing in snow removal/yard care, flooring, windows and other areas.
The service is expected to completely launch in Winnipeg by the late summer.
