RCMP are looking for witnesses to a fatal hit and run on Highway 5 just south of the Sand Hills Casino.
A 22-year-old man from Swan Lake First Nation was struck at around 3:30 a.m. on July 9. Police say the victim was found unresponsive lying in the middle of the highway.
He was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased.
“If you believe you might have some information about this case our investigators would like to hear from you,” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “Even details that might seem insignificant could potentially be the piece of the puzzle we are looking for in order to move this case forward.”
Police determined the man died from the vehicle’s impact after an autopsy was performed.
RCMP are continuing to investigate.
