Shovels in the Ground for New Windsor Park Library

WINNIPEG — Construction on the new Windsor Park Library is now underway.

Officials turned sod on the 8,000 square foot project Thursday morning in St. Boniface.

The new library will be located adjacent to the Bonivital Pool and Windsor Park Golf course.

Windsor Park Library will include an enlarged multi-use program room, multiple computer stations, a universally-accessible design, and made up from a LEED Silver stand of energy efficiency design.

David Penner Architects/Helio Rodrigues h5 Architecture are behind the project, which is expected to be completed by 2017.

The city is funding the $4.7 million library.
