The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba is probing an arrest made by Winnipeg police were a suspect suffered internal injuries.
Police were called to a home on Ross Avenue July 13 for a report of a person smashing planters outside the residence. Officers arrived to find the suspect had forcibly gained entry into the home and was hiding inside a closet.
A Taser was used on the suspect when he resisted arrest.
He was transported to hospital where it was found he had suffered internal injuries.
The IIU will investigate the matter and report their findings once complete.
