WINNIPEG — Assiniboine Park has joined the list of Canadian venues airing the live screening of The Tragically Hip’s final concert on August 20.
The park will screen the CBC’s broadcast of “The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration” on a 27-foor-wide LED screen on the Lyric Stage.
“This concert will be a national celebration and we can’t think of a better way to watch Canada’s favourite band than in the Assiniboine Park with thousands of Manitoba Hip fans,” said Kevin Hunter, senior director of marketing and community engagement.
The free screening will begin at 7:30 p.m. On-site food and beverage vendors will be available to patrons. The event is free and open to all ages.
The West End Cultural Centre is also holding a similar screening that night.
