Ukrainian Community Celebrated at Wednesday’s Goldeyes Game

Winnipeg Goldeyes LogoThe Ukrainian community will be celebrated Wednesday night at the Winnipeg Goldeyes game.

It’s the third time the baseball club will honour Ukrainian heritage.

The night includes a variety of Ukrainian music, dance, and cultural displays. Wednesday’s game also features contests and prizes, including a special “Go Goldeyes” perogy eating contest, courtesy of Sevala’s Ukrainian Deli.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress — Manitoba Provincial Council will benefit from $4 from each $16, $19, or $22 ticket sold being donated to their organization.

Additionally, $4 from each specially designed “Goldeyes Ukrainian Celebration” T-shirt sold will be donated to the Congress to help purchase medical supplies for Ukraine.

The Hoosli Ukrainian Male Chorus will perform the national anthems, while the Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble will entertain fans on the field throughout the night.

The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at Shaw Park as the Goldeyes host the St. Paul Saints.
