WINNIPEG — A woman was killed Wednesday evening while riding her bike on Main Street.
Police say it happened at around 5:45 p.m. while she was riding northbound on Main on the west sidewalk approaching Logan Avenue. A semi-trailer was making a westbound turn on Logan from Main when it collided with the cyclist.
The victim was taken to hospital, but died from her injuries.
Police haven’t been able to identify the woman yet. She appears to be in her late 20’s or early 30’s, having a thin build and medium length dark brown hair. The bicycle she was riding was a Barletta ATB 12 with white with grey writing.
Anyone who may know the victim’s identity or witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at (204) 986-6271.
No charges have been laid against the driver of the semi, who police say is cooperating with investigators.
