The latest outdoor mural to grace the West End will be unveiled on Tuesday.
Local artist Mandy Van Leeuwen painted “A Woman’s Parliament” at 560 Sargent Avenue, representing Nellie McClung.
“There is a great story to be told with every mural. Building our mural gallery helps us draw people into sharing Winnipeg’s history and the amazing contributions of its peoples,” said Gloria Cardwell-Hoeppner, West End BIZ executive director.
Property owner Nighat Tariq donated the wall space as the mural’s canvas.
“It is a beautiful representation of the journey for women’s rights which is exactly why I wanted to sponsor it.”
The unveiling at 10:30 a.m. will include Lieutenant Governor Janice Filmon, Mayor Brian Bowman, and Sport, Culture & Heritage Minister Rochelle Squires.
