The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba is investigating after a complaint against two Winnipeg police officers.
The IIU says a woman came forward alleging two officers physically assaulted her during a traffic stop on June 7. Investigators from the WPS Professional Standards Unit met with the woman to hear her complaints.
The IIU received the unit’s preliminary report into the allegations on July 25 and determined an investigation is warranted.
Findings of the investigation will be released once complete.
