WINNIPEG — Now that we’ve had a couple days of miserable weather — and hopefully the last of them — why not get back into summer with some outdoor movies.
The Assiniboine Park is kicking off their Movies in the Park series tonight in front of the Lyric Theatre.
For four Fridays in August, the park will screen Hollywood blockbuster films on a 27-foot LED cinema-style screen.
“Movies in the Park is always a community favourite and we are so pleased to offer it again for families and friends to come together and enjoy,” said Laura Curtis, Assiniboine Park Conservancy manager of marketing and communications.
“Every summer we see thousands of people gather on the Lyric Lawn and take part in what has become a celebrated Winnipeg tradition. This event is one that is near and dear to all of us at the park.”
Early Feature (7 p.m.)
Late Feature (9:15 p.m.)
The Good Dinosaur
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
King Fu Panda 3
And yes, it’s free. Just bring a lawn chair and maybe some bug spray.
