WINNIPEG — Beginning Monday, motorists issued a parking ticket and wish to challenge it, will no longer have to attend provincial court.
Anyone issued a parking ticket on or after August 8, 2016 will have the option of appearing before a screening officer at the Winnipeg Parking Authority office. Motorists will also be able to have a screening conducted online. Both options are free of charge.
Those wanting to further contest a ticket after interacting with a screening officer can see a provincially-appointed adjudicator for $25. The fee is returned if the motorist is successful in contesting their ticket.
Existing payment methods, including online, by mail or in person at the WPA, remain the same.
